Johanna grew up in Rapperswil, Switzerland. From an early age Johanna has had a fascination with the moving image: As a child she would make home videos with her siblings, at High school she developed her film-making skills further by making music videos.
After leaving school Johanna worked in a Swiss Production House before moving to London, where she is currently studying Film & Video at the London College of Communication. Johanna has worked on various short and feature films in different roles: (cinematographer, camera and lighting assistant, editor & costume assistant) Through these experiences she has gained a greater understanding of the filmmaking process.
Karina grew up in Kazakhstan, where as a teenager she started taking pictures with a camera given to her by her parents. She moved to London so she could study Photography. After completing a foundation diploma from the University of Arts London, her love of the still image turned into one of the moving.
Karina joined the Film & Video course at the London College of Communication. Karina enjoys working with creative people, team building and taking the lead. She is well organised with great attention to detail at every stage: from developing a script to the final post-production arrangements. Karina has produced various short films.
Kyong Hwan originates from South Korea, developing a keen interest in film production since High School. Kyong Hwan studied at the Tokyo Film college in Japan for 2 years.
There he specialised in music video editing and during this time edited several Japanese short films. Kyong Hwan is currently studying Film & Video at the London College of Communication. Part-time he continues to edit Korean short films.
Having originally trained classically from the age of 4, Nikolai became interested in the electronic side of sound and music creation at an early age.
At 17 (whilst still at secondary school) he began working as an electronic music producer and studio technician, which has led to his working and gigging extensively across Europe and even further afield, including places such as South America. However, having always had a passion for film, he decided to pursue that medium, finding that his experience with sound worked hand in hand with the process of film-making. He is currently studying Film & Video at the London College of Communication.
From an early age Victoria has always been interested in creative subjects, especially photography and the moving image. At 18 she started up a clothing label with her brother and sister in Norway. Through this she learnt a vast amount about photography. Meetings with clients abroad gave her a chance to travel the world and get an insight into many different lifestyles and different people which in turn brought her back to wanting to make films.
She enjoys experimenting with photography and transferring this to film to create different atmospheric and stylistic looks. She is currently specializing in cinematography on the Film and Video BA at London College of Communication.
Nina Ryner is an aspiring Production Designer in the last year of her Film & Video course at the London College of Communication.
Her background has always been in art and she uses this to bring a creative, hands on approach to her method of designing and making props for sets.
Nina has worked on a number of sets over the last 3 years as well as making her own experiment art films. She has just recently finished making a 22 meter fabric sculpture for a graduation film and is now taking on the main role of Production Designer on the more recent project, Laughing Tears.
Jessica Waldron has been doing sound recording for a year. She enjoys both creating and recording sounds. Jessica is partial to listening to atmospheric sounds on location.
Jessica believes that sound is one of the most important features of film and feels lucky to be a part of that importance. Jessica is a great team-player. She is a 3rd year student of the London College of Communication Film and Video production course.
